Is Kanye West's $53 Million Debt Claim A Publicity Stunt?

One of the world’s biggest music stars, Kanye Omari West has been spending some of his time on social media platform lately. The American rapper on Saturday night stunned fans after declaring he was $53million in debt on Twitter.
West tweeted about his personal finances just before taking the SNL stage on Saturday, asking his followers to “pray we overcome.”
Following the performance, he dropped his latest album titled ‘The Life of Pablo’ on his website and on Tidal, a streaming service owned by Jay-Z. As of Sunday, February 14th, the album is available only on Tidal.”Please for all music lovers. Please subscribe to tidal!!! I decided not to sell my album for another week. Please subscribe to tidal”, the Atlanta-born entrepreneur again tweeted. This time it seems his plea was able to get the attention of his 18.7 million Twitter followers.

It took less than 24 hours for Tidal app to takeover the number one download spot on iTunes.
West today Monday 15, posted on Twitter showing how Tidal app is now ranks number one on the overall U.S. iOS App Store charts for the first time. Tookover the number one download spot on iTunes in less than 24 hours. And currently number 30 on “Top Grossing” as well.
“Man thank you so so so much everyone for signing up to Tidal. Tidal is now the number one app in the world!!!”, he tweeted appreciating fans for the impression.
It could be recalled that Jay-Z introduced much of the world to West by tapping him for production on much of his seminal 2001 album The Blueprint. The 21 Grammy Awards winner reportedly owns a small stake of Tidal through friend and Tidal owner Jay-Z.
West is the third artist to release music exclusively on Tidal. Recent songs by Jay Z’s wife Beyoncé and Rihanna also hit Tidal before any other streaming services.

West net worth is $120 million in 2015. He reportedly earned $20 Million in the year 2013 which also had 630 thousand copies sale of Yeesus and made a total of $30 Million in 2014.
According to Forbes, “It’s not entirely clear where West got his numbers, whether he meant himself, his label, or any of his other ventures, or even if he really is $53 million in debt despite his many revenue sources, but one way or another, he’ll probably be alright in the end.”
