Nigeria/South Africa: We Lost Because We Lack Experienced Players – Onazi

Super Eagles stand-in captain, Ogenyi Onazi has blamed their defeat by the South African team to lack of experienced players on the the Nigerian team.He said this at the post-match press briefing in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Onazi who was about the most experienced player in the team that lost to South Africa in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo last night could not conceal his pain and disappointment over the outcome of the African Cup of Nations qualifier match between South Africa and Nigeria. He berated the younger Nigerian plays over the way they played the match, which gave the South African team the right to brag over Nigeria. He said it was a shame.
Although he praised the efforts of the players, Onazi insisted, lack of experienced players in the team gave the Bafana Bafana the undue advantage of recording a historic victory over Nigeria in Uyo.
“Yes, the young boys played well, particularly in the first half but due to lack of experience, they could not gather their nerves when it mattered most. It is so very painful that we lost”,he said.
