President Buhari appoints visually impaired man as Special Assistant

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a visually challenged man, Dr. Samuel Ankeli as Senior Special Assistant for persons living with disability.
Dr. Ankeli’s appointment is contained in a statement released on Monday by President Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
Prior to his appointment, Dr. Ankeli headed the Directorate of Persons With Disability at the Buhari/Osinbajo APC presidential campaign headquarters where he led a team that successfully mobilized more that 24 million disabled persons in the country to support the APC candidate and his running mate in the 2015 presidential election campaign.
Dr Ankeli hails from Benue State and schooled in in Giwa, near Zaria and Kaduna before reading veterinary medicine at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He worked with the Benue State government before fully taking up his activist role in the promotion of the wellbeing of the blind and people with disabilities in Nigeria.
