Former vice chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Lagos State Chapter, Kunle Ogedengbe has revealed that his decision not to re-contest for the chairmanship position come March 10, is due to “change of priority”.
In a chat with BrandiQ, Ogedengbe stated that he has decided to focus on other things for now and may consider his ambition for the position again in the future.
“I don’t have any cruel feelings against anyone. All I want is the peace of the NIPR Lagos State chapter. My decision not to contest is because my priorities have changed at the moment”, he said.
Ogedengbe contested against Joseph Okonmah, who is aspiring for a second term in office in July last year. The election which was largely considered free and fair was won by Okonmah but was annulled by the national body due to what was considered as errors leading to the elections.
Among other reasons, the national body cited the late submission of audited report of the chapter before the elections as stipulated by law governing election in NIPR.
