Why Linda Ikeji and Wizkid Are At War

By Gilbert Alasa.
Pop star, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, on Monday evening poked fun at Nigeria’s ace blogger, Linda Ikeji, in a Snapchat post, mocking her marital status.
In a feud that started last year, Linda wrote a report on how Wizkid was paid N8m by the management of American University in Yola, Adamawa State to perform but the singer did not show up after collecting the money. The story eventually turned out to be untrue as the school management debunked it. An enraged Wizkid proceeded to Twitter to take a swipe at the blogger and her family.
Fast forward to January 2016. Linda, again, broke the news of the arrival of the singer’s new baby from her American baby mama, a story which till dateWizkid has yet to deny or admit.
Their feud took a different twist few days ago when Wizkid high-fived an article that mocked the blogger as suffering from “poverty mentality” just after the row that trailed her Hermes Birkin bags.
The singer went ahead to crop a talking point in the article that reads: “A major symptom of poverty mentality is money and material fixation. Sometimes, no matter how far away from poverty one runs, some people still need an open brain surgery to expunge the poverty mentality” and went ahead to post same on his Snapchat account.

This time, Linda decided to shade the singer in an article where American rapper, The Game, stood up for his baby mama against an internet troll who called him a dead beat dad. In an article, Linda wrote: “unlike a dead beat father who hasn’t started to cater for his child”, referring to Wizkid who was called a “deadbeat dad” by his alleged baby mama, Binta Diamond Diallo.
However, Wizkid, obviously cussed by Linda’s jeer, took to his Snapchat account to write: “Almost 40, lonely and bitter! Prayers up for u”with an old photo of the blogger.
While the blogger is yet to respond to Wizkid’s latest bashing, X3M music star, Praiz, on Tuesday, dissed the billionaire blogger for writing about American comedian, Kevin Hart, having a day named in his honor in California.
Praiz, who had been honoured by Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, proclaiming Saturday, February 6 as Praise Adejo Day, accused the blogger for not reporting Nigerians doing exploits abroad.
