The Nigerian Police yesterday launched a mobile application to cater for case reporting such as rape, robbery, assault and theft without compromise of identity.

This app called Smart Police, was created by Cyberspace, a wholly Nigerian company created in 1995 to deliver ICT services and cutting edge networking solutions. Cyberspace is reputed for being the first to build a world class converged IP network that supports applications based on the 3 hierarchical models in 2002.

To download the application, prospective users are to visit Google play on Android devices or the app store on other devices to download.

Users could also register via Facebook, Google+ with anonymous login to create account.

The application allows users to make distress call (emergency call) at ease by using the ‘Panic Mode button’. It also allows users to interact with police officials.
