There was no better way to close out Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2025 than with Heineken itself taking the runway in a spectacular, city-inspired finale.

A statement from the organisers on Sunday stated that on November 1, the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos came alive with pulsating energy as Heineken delivered a show-stopping closing performance that captured the heartbeat of the city — a perfect fusion of fashion, music, and art that reflected the style and spirit of Lagos.

Tagged “City of Cities – Our Rhythm, Our Runway,” the showcase served as a love letter to Lagos — its chaos, charm, colour, and creativity. Through a striking blend of fashion, music, movement, and scenography, the performance traced the evolution of Heineken Lagos Fashion Week from legacy to innovation.

As the sound of local drums and chanting voices praising Lagos filled the air, models adorned in regal, expressive looks graced the stage — each one a tribute to the city’s beauty, grit, and unrelenting authenticity.

From raffia and sequins to hand-beaded masterpieces, the 46-piece collection curated by Omoyemi Akerele, Founder and CEO of Lagos Fashion Week, featured a constellation of Africa’s most celebrated designers: Atafo, ESO by Liman, Nkwo, Onalaja, Dimeji Ilori, LFJ, Cynthia Abila, Eki Kere, Oshobor, Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Odio Mimonet, Kilentar, LDA, Orange Culture, Iconic Invanity, Imad Eduso, Ywande, Bridget Awosika, Sisiano, Abiola Olusola, Studio Imo, Hertunba, Ajanee, Ti Nathan, Re-Bahia, Gozel Green, and FIA Factory, among others.

Under the lights, Heineken’s signature green shimmered across the runway, illuminating the hall like Lagos after dark — vibrant, restless, and full of attitude. Each sequence unfolded as a love story to the city’s rhythm, culminating in a dance tribute to Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and a powerful performance by the LOUD Urban Choir. The showcase affirmed that this was more than a collaboration — it was a conversation between fashion, culture, and Lagos’ indomitable spirit.

“Heineken’s partnership with Lagos Fashion Week stands as a celebration of the creativity and cultural robustness that make this city so unique. We believe fashion is a force for expression, progress, and identity — it is way more than just aesthetics. This year, we’ve pushed the boundaries once again, proving that the future of fashion is fearless, it is innovative, and it is undoubtedly African,” said Sandra Amachree, Head of Marketing Communications, Nigerian Breweries Plc.

The night transitioned seamlessly into an after-party celebration, featuring electrifying performances by Adekunle Gold, Dope Caesar, DJ Consequence, and DJ Tinny. Guests danced, sang, and reveled late into the night, capping off an evening that pulsed with Lagos’ trademark exuberance.

With its breathtaking finale, Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2025 reaffirmed its role as a driving force in shaping Africa’s contemporary fashion narrative — one that merges heritage with innovation and celebrates diversity through design.

More than a runway show, the event embodied the spirit of leadership — not just being seen, but showing up differently, daring to tell new stories, and inspiring creative excellence.

In the end, Heineken Lagos Fashion Week didn’t just come to a close — it lit up the “City of Cities,” celebrating the synergy of fashion, innovation, partnership, and the unstoppable energy of Lagos itself.
