Atiku, Obi, Tinubu Absent In Court As First Part of Proceeding Concludes

In a pivotal turn of events at the Appeal Court, the much-anticipated legal battle over the 2023 presidential election took an unexpected twist as both presidential candidates, LP’s Peter Obi and PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, and APC’s Bola Tinubu were conspicuously absent from the proceedings.

This marked a significant development in the ongoing challenge to the declaration of Bola Tinubu, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the victor of the said election.

As the Tribunal’s Chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani, called for the petitioners and responders to identify themselves, it was Julius Abure who stepped forward to represent the interests of the former Anambra State governor, LP’s presidential candidate. Conversely, Vice President Kashim Shettima promptly introduced himself as the principal responder, accompanied by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.

Notably, a multitude of high-ranking APC figures, including several governors, were present at the venue to witness the unfolding proceedings, demonstrating the significance of this legal battle within the party’s ranks. Representatives from both the LP and the PDP were also in attendance, adding to the palpable anticipation surrounding this legal contest.
