Benteke Dashes Liverpool's FA Title Hopes

By Gilbert Alasa.
Liverpool’s forward Christian Benteke has been blamed for a lacklustre performance that saw the Reds crash out of the FA Cup on Tuesday against West Ham in the fourth round replay of the competition.
The former Aston Villa hitman who may have given his best performance since arriving at Anfield wasted Liverpool’s goal-scoring opportunities in quick succession.
The Reds came back from a goal down against West Ham United at Upton Park to force extra time on Tuesday, but an Angelo Ogbonna header was enough to settle the match in the 120th minute, handing the Hammers a 2-1 win in an enthralling encounter.
In what many have termed a flop, Benteke’s spell at Anfield now hangs in the balance, following his inability to deliver in several league appearances. Despite a promising link play with Daniel Sturridge, fans who reacted to Tuesday’s FA Cup tie said the Belgian’s misses and misfiring are inexcusable.
