It is a solar-powered technology which sees its road markings made of luminescent paint charge all day in the sun and then glows for about eight hours
when it gets dark. These markings are capable of making roads safer, while eliminating the need for street lights in some areas, thereby reducing energy consumption.
Remarkably, these technologies are often efforts of municipal governments, ‘city developers’ in collaboration with firms at branding the city and giving it the unique looks it requires.
While the approach of Studio Roosegarde may still look very much like a pipe dream in this part of the world, one firm that is inching near such technology and revolutionizing roadways in Nigeria is ‘Convitech.’
