The Nigerian Armed Forces on Monday, February 29, said it had complied with the Presidential directive for all services in the Nigerian military to have the same camouflage uniform in operation areas.
The director in charge of logistics at the NAF headquarters garrison, Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja, Air Commodore Ali Mohammed stated this at the unveiling of the new woodland camouflage.
Ali said the directive stated that only the Nigerian armed forces comprising the Nigerian army, the Navy and the NAF were allowed to use military camouflage.
Mohammed added that the force had earlier distributed the desert camouflage to troops involved in the ongoing operation against the Boko Haram in the North-East.
“We see a lot of paramilitary and other security outfits, continuing to come up with different set of camouflage. So because of that Mr. President gave a directive sometime last year that only the two shirts of woodland and the desert camouflage are permitted only for the military,” he said.
Meanwhile, four suspected Boko Haram members whose identities match those on the list of 100 most wanted terrorists released by the military over the weekend have been apprehended by the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) at the Maiduguri motor park.
