Lagos Sheraton Hosts 2016 ADVAN Marketers Conference on May 13

In line with its tradition of keeping strategic marketing issues on the front burner of business in Nigeria, the umbrella association of all advertisers in Nigeria, Advertisers’ Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) is set to bring together seasoned industry experts to discuss emerging issues facing the marketing industry in the country.
The event, which is the association’s first major programme this year, is billed to take place at the prestigious Lagos Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja on Friday, May 13, 2016.
President of ADVAN, David Okeme, made this known to a select group of journalists recently at the Association’s secretariat in Ikeja. Okeme also revealed that the event, which will host over 150 top marketing professionals, will feature panel discussions on marketing insights and emerging consumer engagement trends.
According to Okeme, the conference themed “Connecting Brand Builders” is specially structured for the purpose of collating, analysing and aggregating all shades of thoughts, ideas, knowledge and propositions that will place the relevance of marketing at the heart of strategic business discussions in Nigeria.
He also disclosed that eminent speakers have been invited to present papers at the forum which is meant to consolidate on the gains of activities of 2015. Lampe Omoyele, MD of The Nielsen Company and Juliet Ehimuan Chiazor, Country Manager of Google Nigeria are the lead speakers who will deliver the two major papers at the conference.
Other speakers invited as discussants to dissect various issues thrown up by the main speakers include  Joan Ihekwaba,  GM- Marketing, UAC Foods Nigeria; Kola Oyeyemi, GM Business Development Sales and Distribution Division, MTN Nigeria, Kachi Onubogu, Commercial Director, Promasidor Ltd; Ken Onyeali Ikpe, MD/CEO of Mediacom Nigeria; Richard Iwenoge GM -Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria; Tony Agenmonmen, Vice President of NIMN;  Fatai Odesile, Acting Managing Director of Grand Oak Limited and  Obinna Anyalebechi, Consumer Marketing, Guinness Nigeria Plc.
The three moderators for the event are  Chidi Okoro, MD of UAC Foods Plc; Ugo Geri-Roberts , MD of Milward Brown Nigeria and Sampson Oloche, Head CMI and Media, Nigerian Breweries Plc.
Okeme equally stated that participants will get rare hindsight from the World Federation of Advertisers’ Global Marketers Conference that took place in Malaysia.

He disclosed that this year, with the support of other relevant bodies, ADVAN will be initiating various data compilation researches to empower the industry with accurate and relevant information for the planning and implementation of its marketing activities.
“We have already received commitment in the form of support from reputable research firms towards the actualization of this project,” Okeme revealed.
