MultiChoice Talent Factory Concludes Roadshow Training

MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), an initiative of MultiChoice in partnership with Lights, Camera, and Diaspora, has announced the conclusion of a roadshow training that has been on for over two months.

According to the company, the roadshow tagged “Lights, Camera and Diaspora”, was a training across three regions in Africa; Southern Africa, East Africa, and West Africa. It served as a training platform for aspiring filmmakers, industry professionals, and experts to collaborate, connect, and create captivating content.

The high point of the roadshow at each location was a masterclass in camera and lighting techniques for film and television. It was facilitated by Rigging Gaffer Tamu Bakr, who has over 30 years of experience in Hollywood, the company added.

The training show started in Lusaka before coming to Lagos, Nigeria. The masterclass was featured as part of the AMVCA 2023 Awards weekend and was held at the Mike Adenuga Centre.

The pay-TV platform stated that the partnership reinforced MTF’s commitment to empowering African filmmakers and promoting cross-cultural collaborations. The masterclass was aimed at enhancing technical proficiency, elevating storytelling techniques, and improving the overall quality of local productions.

The masterclasses were also designed to equip attendees with invaluable skills and insights that are crucial for their professional development. A surge in attendance, growing from 340 attendees in the 2022 class to nearly 3,500 attendees in 2023, is a testament to the value these masterclasses provide to empower aspiring filmmakers across the continent.
