Nigerian Breweries Plc Wins Outstanding Company on Gender Inclusion Award

BrandiQ Reports

In recognition of its efforts toward promoting gender diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in the workplace, Nigerian Breweries Plc was recently recognized as the most Outstanding Company in Gender Inclusion at the just concluded Women in Marketing & Communications Award held at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.

The company’s Corporate Affairs Director, Mrs. Sade Morgan, and its Senior Media, Brand PR & Sponsorships Manager, Ms. Sandra Amachree, were also honoured among the top 50 most influential women in Marketing Communications in Nigeria for their contribution to the growth of brands, marketing and communications industry in Nigeria.

According to the Publisher of Brand Communicator, who is also the convener of the award, some organizations, including NB Plc, have created a healthy working environment that breaks down barriers for talented, qualified women to join corporate boardrooms and make demonstrable differences.

“This award is to appreciate the contribution of Nigerian Breweries Plc and other companies for being at the forefront of promoting inclusiveness in the workplace. It is also aimed at fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goal No.5. We believe inclusive leadership can be the game changer for bridging gaps in a volatile business environment like ours”, he said.

Receiving the award, Morgan expressed profound appreciation to the organizers for the honour, promising that the company would continue to raise the bar to ensure that women are well represented in its workforce.

“As a company, we are committed to maximizing the benefits of diversity and inclusion to increase performance and profitability. There is no doubt that NB Plc has provided a haven for women to develop their leadership capacity and raise their visibility and representation in the marketplace. We are a company that has demonstrated passion for promoting, empowering, and advancing gender diversity in the workplace as reflected in the number of women representation on our board, as well as the sizable number of women in a usually male-dominated industry”, Morgan said.

It would be recalled that Nigerian Breweries Plc was recently ranked as the second highest performer with 40% of female representation on its board and also recently won five awards at the Marketing Edge Brands and Advertising Excellence award.
