Members of the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), will on Thursday March 10, 2016 elect a new chairman via a poll which will take place at the HOCAL suites of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Yaba.

The election which ought to have been held on Thursday, February 25 was posted for next week.

The election is keenly contested by Joseph Okonmah, whose second term election was annulled in July 2015 by the national body, Olusegun McMedal, The Chief Reputation Strategist of Upticomm, who was the Chairman, Annual General Committee (AGM) in 2015 and Olushola Niyi, the immediate past Caretaker Chairman.

Okonmah, a managing director of Jasek Communications Limited, an integrated marketing communication firm has promised to consolidate on his fist term achievements if re-elected.
While speaking with the media on his plan recently, the Chief Reputation Strategist of Upticomm said his seven-point manifesto sets out his plan to move the Lagos State Chapter of NIPR forward.

“I have been playing active role in Committees since I joined the Chapter. Last year, I had the honour of heading the 26th AGM/PR Week Planning Committee. The work of my group has been widely applauded for moving the Chapter forward by stakeholders. This was made possible largely by the generous donations and support from sponsors and partners. There is need to consolidate on the gains of that AGM and I am ready to lead the Chapter to vibrancy once again,” McMedal said.
