Global smartphone brand TECNO has announced the winners of its 2025 ‘Shot On CAMON’ Photography Contest, spotlighting powerful visual storytelling and creative diversity from photographers across emerging markets.

This year’s edition—themed “Capturing the Pulse, the Bond and the Motion of Life” -received more than 10,000 submissions from 56 countries, reaffirming the competition’s status as one of the world’s most inclusive mobile photography platforms.

Organised in partnership with Amateur Photographer magazine, the contest empowers creators to share authentic human stories through technology-driven art. The initiative aligns with TECNO’s brand mission to inspire creativity, bridge cultures, and celebrate everyday beauty through innovation.

A total of $37,000 in prizes was awarded to outstanding photographers. The Grand Prize winner, crowned TECNO Photography Master, received $10,000, while gold, silver, and bronze winners earned $5,000, $3,000, and $1,000 respectively. Ten other participants received the TECNO FriendPrize, each winning a CAMON 40 Premier 5G smartphone.

“This year’s Shot On CAMON contest shows clear growth—not just in scale, but in confidence and individuality,” said Amateur Photographer Editor, Nigel Atherton. “Many creators told powerful everyday stories with a distinct visual voice. TECNO’s effort to make that kind of expression possible gives this project real value.”

Laury Bai, TECNO’s Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized that the contest reflects the brand’s dedication to showcasing human connection through technology.

“Every photograph tells a story of rhythm, emotion, and connection,” Bai said. “Through Shot On CAMON, TECNO celebrates the power of perspective—helping creators capture moments that resonate globally.”

This year’s TECNO Photography Master, Nigerian photographer @micheal_the_colorist, won for his piece “High Spirits”—a vivid snapshot of friends mid-air, symbolizing youth, colour, and freedom.

Category highlights included scenes of friendship, play, compassion, and movement—each revealing everyday African and global experiences through the eyes of new storytellers.

All winners will embark on an exclusive London Photography Tour later in 2025, capturing the vibrant rhythm of one of the world’s most photographed cities while connecting with global creatives. Through initiatives like this, TECNO continues to redefine innovation as a platform for human expression, merging technology and art in ways that give new life to everyday stories.
