A quartet of unlikely players are leading the goal-scoring sheet of the English Premier League, following uninspiring displays from erstwhile leading scorers in previous campaigns.
Jamie Vardy of Leicester leads the way with 14 goals in 14 games, ahead of Romelu Lukaku with 10, with Watford’s Odion Ighalo and Tottenham forward Harry Kane jointly in bronze medal position at eight.
The “newcomers” have since outclassed the likes of Diego Costa, Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney who have all made good showings in the goal-scoring business in past seasons.

Few would have predicted such a peculiar quartet leading the way at this stage, with none of the leaders playing for clubs considered a genuine title challenger at the start of the campaign.
The statistics suggests Leicester is consistently putting him in good positions, and his scoring streak — while unlikely to remain at the goal-per-game mark — could continue.
