Mourinho Faces Fresh FA Charges

By Gilbert Alasa
Chelsea Manager, Jose Mourihno, has yet again, been charged by the Football Association for misconduct, following his comments after Saturday’s defeat to Southampton.
Mourinho had blamed match officials for being “afraid” to call penalties for the Stamford Bridge club.
An FA statement said: “It is alleged, his remarks constitute improper conduct in that, they alleged and/or imply bias on the part of a match official or match officials and/or bring the game into disrepute.”
Mourinho has until Thursday evening to respond to the charge.

In his post-match press conference, the Chelsea boss was upset that referee Robert Madley failed to give a penalty for a challenge on Radamel Falcao by keeper Maarten Stekelenburg, with the striker booked for simulation instead.
“The referees are afraid to give decisions to Chelsea. Once more, we don’t get the penalty at a crucial moment in the game. The penalty was a giant penalty, and after that, the team lost even more confidence,” Mourinho said.
Mourihno took a swipe at the football body by saying, “if they (FA) want to punish me, they can punish me. They don’t punish other managers.”
The heavy defeat at Southampton had fuelled speculations of possible sack by the club owners. But reports have since revealed that many fans of club believe the Portuguese would turn around the dwindling fortunes of the club.
