Ahead of Rio Olympics, Coca-Cola signs American golfer Jordan Spieth

By Lukmon Oloyede.
American golfer Jordan Spieth has signed a multi-year endorsement deal with global beverage giant, Coca-Cola.
The 22-year-old has quickly become a forced to be reckoned with on the golf course. Now, he has becoming one of sport’s top earners off the course too.
According to reports, the world number one’s contract is on the same level as those held with the company by National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar LeBron James, singer Taylor Swift and actress Jennifer Aniston.
A statement from Coca-Cola said that the return of golf as an Olympic sport in Rio this year was a key driver in its deal with Spieth.
“As an Olympic hopeful, (Spieth) also will become a member of Coca-Cola’s 6-Pack of Olympians and Paralympians during the run-up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games,” the statement read.
The winner of last year’s US Open and The Masters will appear in endorsements for the company across all of its marketing channels including TV commercials, social media spots, out-of-home advertising such as billboards, and on point-of-sale displays and packaging for Coca-Cola products and its bottled water brand, Dasani.
