Nigerian fintech company @Fintava has launched Finstore, a free online store builder designed to simplify e-commerce adoption for African merchants and challenge established global platforms such as Shopify.

The platform, which recently went live, has already onboarded more than 150 merchants within its first week, highlighting strong demand for accessible digital commerce tools across the continent.

Finstore allows users to create fully functional online stores and begin selling in under a minute, removing traditional barriers such as complex setup processes, subscription costs, and third-party payment integrations.

A key feature of the platform is its built-in payment infrastructure, developed by Fintava, which enables merchants to accept payments immediately without relying on external providers.

“Starting an online business should be as easy as posting on social media,” a Finstore spokesperson said.
“With Finstore, we’ve taken away the barriers: no fees, no complicated setup, and no need to connect external payment providers. You can go from idea to first sale in under a minute.”

In addition to store creation and payments, the platform provides a centralised dashboard offering real-time insights into sales performance and customer behaviour, enabling merchants to make data-driven decisions.

The launch comes amid growing momentum in Africa’s digital economy, where small and medium-sized enterprises are increasingly moving online but continue to face challenges around affordability and infrastructure.

By combining simplicity, speed, and zero-cost access, Finstore is positioning itself as a compelling alternative for entrepreneurs seeking to establish and scale their online presence.
