Goldberg visits Ooni of Ife, Receives Royal Blessings

As part of its commitment to celebrate the culture and tradition of its valued consumers through consumer engagement, interaction and association, Goldberg Lager Beer from the stable of Nigerian Breweries Plc has become the first lager brand to visit the newly crowned Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Enitan Adeyeye  Ogunwunsi.

The visit which held ahead of his royal majesty’s coronation ceremony in Ile-Ife Osun State came as a mark of respect and facilitation with the Arole Odua Ojaja 11 had in attendance, the Business Manager for Ibadan Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Joseph Bodunrin, Public Affairs Manager West/Mid-West, Mr. Tayo Adelaja, Brand Manager Goldberg, Mr. Mfon Bassey and other official was to demonstrate the brand’s core values of respect for traditional values of the people.
Speaking during visit, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who welcomed the Goldberg team, said the visit could not have come at a better time than this, especially from a brand that aligns itself with the tradition and culture of its consumers. “This is something commendable as it will be a partnership that will extend beyond coronation period.”

He added that, Nigerian Breweries Plc as a company is known for brewing quality products for over sixty-nine years and its stride in building human, economic and social development in Nigeria is highly commendable. He called for continued partnership between the organization and the traditional setup in developing communities and the Nation at large and urged Nigerian Breweries and other companies, operating in the country to be more involved in corporate social responsibility to endear their product to the people.
The Ooni who gave his royal blessing to the brand and the company further said he was elated because Nigerian Breweries as a company uses the resources generated from the society to assist the same society. “Your reverence for culture has been able to see you standing despite the economic recession that has been experienced in the country.”He promised to form formidable alliance with Nigerian Breweries and the Goldberg brand.

In his comments, Business Manager Ibadan, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Mr. Joseph Bodunrin, said Nigerian Breweries is the only company that has experience in beer production with local content thereby providing employment to Nigerians. He revealed that Goldberg brand is a brand that respects people and their cultural rhythm which has over the years created a strong bond with cultural festivals in and around the west.
Brand Manager Goldberg, Mr. Mfon Bassey, told the esteemed royal father and others present that Goldberg is a brand that is brewed for the “Befitting Man” and has always been part of cultural celebrations like Osun Osogbo festival and Ojude Oba in Ijebu Ode. The brand was also present at the coronation of the Deji of Akure. Beyond that it also host the annual Goldberg Fuji t’o bam talent hunt show which is part of the continued development of the culture of the people which has spanned for three editions.
