Newly Elected NIPR Lagos Chapter Chairman, Mrs. Comfort Obot Nwankwo, Sets Ambitious Agenda in Acceptance Speech

In a heartfelt acceptance speech, Mrs. Comfort Obot Nwankwo, the newly elected Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), expressed her profound gratitude to the esteemed members of the Chapter for entrusting her with the role and outlined an ambitious agenda for the upcoming two years.

Addressing a gathering of professional colleagues, Mrs. Nwankwo began by expressing her humility and gratitude: “I stand before you today deeply humbled and immensely grateful for your trust and support as we embark on another two-year journey together.”

The newly elected Chairman highlighted the pivotal role played by the members of the Chapter in achieving the past accomplishments: “Our accomplishments have been a direct result of your unwavering support and commitment to our BIG APPLE agenda.”

The BIG APPLE agenda, which focuses on elevating the Chapter’s stature, fostering collaborations with stakeholders, and ensuring every member feels valued, has been the guiding principle for the past administration.

Mrs. Nwankwo assured the members of the Chapter of her unwavering commitment to raising the bar even higher during her tenure: “As we embark on the next phase of this administration, I want to assure you that we are committed to raising the bar even higher. Rest assured, we will not let you down.”

One of the key initiatives set forth by Mrs. Nwankwo is the acquisition of property in a prime location within Lagos: “One such audacious initiative is the acquisition of our own property in a prime location within our vibrant city. Let us declare together: ‘YES, WE CAN! YES, WE CAN!’ With the collective efforts of our members, we can transform this vision into reality.”

In addition to property acquisition, the Chairman also emphasized the Chapter’s commitment to tackling unlicensed practitioners in the field: “Additionally, we will expand our engagement across diverse sectors. With the support of the national body, we are determined to go after quacks practicing PR without a license.”

Mrs. Nwankwo concluded her speech by urging members to redouble their commitment to the Chapter: “Before I conclude, I urge each of us to redouble our commitment to the Chapter by promptly settling our dues, actively participating in meetings and events, and assisting in securing sponsorships for our programs and projects.”

In closing, she expressed her gratitude for the support of the Chapter and conveyed her determination to continue elevating the practice of public relations in Lagos and beyond: “Thank you for your invaluable time and unwavering support. Together, we will continue to elevate the practice of public relations in Lagos and beyond.”
