Oxlade-Chamberlain To Miss United Clash

By Gilbert Alasa.
Arsenal midfielder Oxlade Chamberlain is set to miss Sunday encounter with Manchester United, following a knee injury he picked up during the side’s Champions League tie with Spanish leaders Barcelona on Tuesday.
The England international left the field on crutches with heavy strapping and fears he has damaged ligaments which could mean he misses a big chunk of Arsenal’s title run-in.
The Arsenal midfielder was sent for a scan yesterday after damaging his right knee and ankle in a challenge with Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger, has admitted Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s knee injury ‘is quite serious’ but moved to allay fears he will miss Euro 2016.

“His injury is quite serious,’ Wenger said. ‘It keeps him out for a few weeks. He is consulting at the moment, seeing a specialist. He’s definitely out for a few weeks, but for how long I don’t know.
‘When he was cut in two by Mascherano he did his knee. We have to wait to see how big the damage is in the knee. I don’t think it was a malicious tackle, it was fully-committed,” he said.
