Nigeria’s number one Malt Brand, Maltina has urged Lagosians to patronize ferry services across Lagos as a panacea to incessant road traffic with attendant healh implications.
Maltina has consistently set out to look for easier ways for people to experience happiness in their daily lives, which is why they are particularly focused on the one thing that increases the stress levels, which is incessant traffic congestion.
It is noteworthy that Lagosians are spending more time moving within Lagos than on international flights. Beyond the time lost and the commuting issues that many face on these roads, a high percentage of Lagosians are also burnt out as the traffic situation is taking a toll on their mental health and physical health.
While the Lagos State Government is working tirelessly to improve the traffic situation, conscientious brands like Maltina, have set out to encourage more Lagos State residents to explore waterways as a means of daily transportation. As a malt drink known for putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians everywhere, Maltina recognises the harmful impact of the traffic situation and has partnered with the Lagos State Ferry services- the major ferry services provider in Lagos State, to raise awareness about the safety, efficiency, and affordability of alternate transport on the inland waterways for the people and businesses of Lagos State.
The six routes the boats have been plying include Ikorodu to Falomo; Ikorodu to Ebute Ero and Marina; Ebute Ojo to Ijegun Egba, Apapa and Marina; Bayeku to Oke Ira Nla and Falomo; Mile 2 to Marina, and Badore to Ijede. An additional four ferry routes were also created to complement the existing ones, namely, Ipakodo (Ikorodu) to Addax/five cowries in Falomo; Ipakodo (Ikorodu) to CMS/Marina; and Badore (Tarzan) to Ijede; Ebute Ojo to Liverpool to CMS/Marina. Others are Mile 2 – Liverpool- CMS/Marina, Baiyeku (Ikorodu) to Oke-Ira Nla to Badore in Ajah and Ilaje to Bariga to Ebute Ero and CMS.
To facilitate business within the State, LAGFERRY is providing innovative solutions to logistic challenges of industries, importers and manufacturers. Through its efficient cargo movement system, it currently conveys trucks from its Mile 2 Jetty to Apapa Seaport to load containers. The design and fabrication of the new boats were totally worked out by two local boat manufacturers as the Lagos State Government’s way of exploring local capacity in providing solutions to various challenges.
The commercial operations on waterways are aimed at restoring the aesthetics of the environment through reduction of carbon emission and promoting a healthy living- something the Maltina Team is particularly passionate about. They have further encouraged Lagosians to switch to water transport for their daily commutes. While the number of boats may not be able to serve every single person in Lagos, it will work to reduce the number of motor vehicles on the roads, causing a drastic reduction in traffic.
From innovative campaigns to generous donations, Maltina has helped to raise active children by promoting their development through sporting competitions, showed appreciation and recognised impactful teachers across the country and joined in sharing happiness with Nigerians at several religious celebrations. Now, the Brand is extending their mantra of sharing happiness to improve the lives of Lagosians.
With over 40 years of nourishing Nigerians as well as a mission to share happiness to Nigerians all over the world, Maltina continues to improve the lives of people while ensuring that they deliver high-quality malt beverages.
