Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Delta State chapter, yesterday, adopted the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the sole gubernatorial candidate of the political leadership of all local governments in the state for the 2019 general election.
Addressing newsmen after a closed door meeting of chairmen and vice chairmen of the 25 local government councils in the state at the Ughelli North Local Government Area secretariat, the state Chairman of ALGON, Sir Itiako Ikpokpo said the Governor had in the last three years “steered the ship of governance through its turbulent financial crisis and placed the state on the path of sustainable growth and development”.
Saying Delta ALGON will purchase nomination form for Dr Ifeanyi Okow, Ikpokpo said; “Local governments in Delta State state have continued to enjoy the proactive and invaluable support of Governor Okowa in the maintenance of communal peace and security across all local governments.”
