Hip hop star Davido seems to have severed ties with his widely acclaimed HKN Music as he floats a new record label, DMW (Davido Music Worldwide).
In a tweet, the self-acclaimed O.B.O announced his new label and the new acts behind the new music empire. The announcement further revealed that the singer might have cut ties with his family members on the former label. Unconfirmed reports say the singer has abandoned HKN, following his cold war with his cousins on the label.
Prior to the announcement, Davido had gone to Twitter to complain why his label mate (his family member) would grow jealous of new act Mayorkun whose music receives better reception than the angry label mate’s.
Sources said the disagreement with label mates promoted the singer to float the new label.
The singer, who recently signed a mega deal with Sony Music, revealed the new label logo on Twitter today.
