All work and no play, they say – makes jack a dull boy. Children’s free play time has been continually declining, and it’s keeping them from turning into confident adults. With this in mind, EXP Nigeria, an experiential marketing company has initiated a Barney & Friends Tour for children.
The firm held the maiden edition of the event recently at Havilah Event Center, Victoria Island, Lagos to mark the Children’s Day. The event brought lots of smiles, fun and excitement with a thrilling timeout with Barney & Friends. It created a unique adventurous house of fantasies and bewilderment for the children.
[ad id=”187″]The events had two sessions (morning and afternoon) and witnessed a lot of parents registering and drop off their kids. The children had fun as they were involved in face painting, dancing competitions, games with a lot to eat and drink.
“Play time is in short supply for children these days and the lifelong consequences for developing children can be more serious than many people realize. So we felt there is a need to create a platform that will allow kids to play. We are planning a Barney & Friends Tour that will visit Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Enugu, and Port Harcourt”, said Wole Olagundoye, Managing Director of EXP Nigeria Ltd.
The programme was created by EXP Nigeria in partnership with Baniaz, makers of Barney fruit drink and owners of the Barney franchise in Africa. The shows began with the theme song and other songs that had the children singing along.
The children were also engaged after the show with the bouncing castles, ice skating rings, mountain climbing and photo sessions with Barney. Parents as well as the kids relished the show with great excitement.
