NIPR Reels Out Plans For 2023 Lagos PR Week

The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations has announced activities line-up to celebrate the 2023 edition of its annual Lagos PR Week.

This was made known in a press conference held over the weekend. The weeklong activities will be held from Friday, September 15th to Thursday, September 21st, 2023, and end with its AGM.

Speaking on the activities for this year’s event, the Chairman of the State Chapter, Comfort Obot Okonkwo said that the 2023 edition promises to be bigger and better with a lot of activities lined up to make it memorable.

She further stated that the chapter began a mentoring session for communication undergraduates in Lagos tertiary institutions as part of activities to create awareness for the forthcoming event and also bridge the gap between town and gown.

On the lineup activities for this year’s event, Nwankwo explained that “On Friday, September 15, 2023, we will have PR Practitioners Evening of Cocktail, featuring engaging discussions on the future of PR, networking opportunities, music, and premier entertainment. This event will bring together key figures from Nigeria’s PR Industry and the Media.
“Saturday, September 16, 2023, is dedicated to Health Awareness for PR Practitioners, Friends, and Family. Enjoy recreational activities including a Health Walk, Health Check, Football Challenge, Aerobics, Fanfare, Tug of War, and more. There would be a friendly match between NIPR Lagos and NIJ teams at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, starting at 7:30 a.m.

“The grand finale of the PR Week is on Thursday, September 21, 2023, featuring the Annual Lecture, AGM, and General Elections, all centred around the theme “Innovation and Disruption: Unlocking Opportunities for PR Practice.” This event will take place at Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, starting at 10 am.”

Also announcing other forthcoming programmes of the chapter, Nwankwo revealed that the PR Digital Summit will be held between October 18th and 19th at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos while the Lagos PR Industry Gala and Award (LaPRIGA) will be held December 15th, 2023.
