OAAN Set To Hold 38th AGM

The city of Asaba, the Delta State capital, will go agog as stakeholders in Nigeria’s Out-of-Home industry are set to witness another landmark event. 38th edition of the Out-of-Home Advertising Association of Nigeria’s (OAAN’s) Annual General Meeting (AGM), is scheduled to take place in Asaba, between Thursday, 26 October and Saturday, 28 October, 2023.

Noting the theme as “The Economic Outlook in a Transition Year”, the Vice President of OAAN and MD/CEO of Mario Sanctus Ltd, Chief George Onwujiariri, explained how apt the theme is to this year’s edition of the AGM.

He described it as a historic and remarkable event that will herald and usher in OAAN’S new set of leadership as Excos, who will be steering the transitional journey of the association in the next two years.

“At this AGM, we are going to elect new Executive. This administration, led by Chief Emmanuel Ajufo, will be rounding up at this AGM, so another administration will take over. The theme signals a transition year for us. It also serves as guide because we are taking a look at the business outlook so far, how we have fared amidst the weight of various economic pressures as well as new projections to move ahead. The association will also be inducting about 5 new agencies into its fold,” he said.

Onwujiariri revealed that the event promises to attract the crème de la crème in the industry, including distinguished personalities from government and private sectors who will be recognized as special guests of honour at the event.

Speaking on the turn of event concerning the Chairman of the association’s Board of Trustee, the VP said after the demise of late Bankole Ademulegun, the association appointed Charles Chijide, the former Secretary of Board of Trustee, as Chairman of its Board, while Mrs. Grace Alonge took the position of the Secretary of the Board of Trustee.
