Tolu Ogunlesi Confirms Appointment As Head of New Media Team

Renowned blogger and award-winning journalist, Mr. Tolu Ogunlesi has confirmed his appointment as Special Assistant on Digital/New Media by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Ogunlesi, who was reportedly appointed for the same position by President Buhari in 2015, told BrandiQ on telephone this morning that his appointment is official.

On Thursday, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, announced Ogunlesi’s appointment.
Prior to his appointment, Ogunlesi has worked as Features Editor and Editorial Board member of NEXT newspapers.
The two-time winner of the prestigious Multichoice/CNN African Journalist of the Year has also worked as Arts Manager, British Council in Nigeria.

A former columnist with Nigeria’s most widely read newspaper Punch, Ogunlesi was appointed in January 2016 as Strategic Communications Adviser to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment.
Ogunlesi will be assisted by 24-years old Bashir Ahmad, who works as Personal Assistant to the President on New Media.
