We Need to Build On the Good Foundation of The First Two Years – Dr Rotimi Olaniyan

Under the auspice of its inaugural President Mr. Kayode Olagesin, EXMAN has endeavored to establish the foundations of what the industry hopes will become a vibrant, influential and respected trade group. And for going forward, the Vice President of EXMAN and CEO of Proximity Communications, Dr Rotimi Olaniyan, has called for all hands be on deck to build on the foundation already laid by the current executive in the first two years of the association’s existence.

[ad id=”147″]“It is imperative to build on the foundation of the association’s good start. Our retiring President has been passionate, dogged and long suffering in the pursuance of our charter and I have had the honour of serving as his VP and chief  counsel.

As we all look to the future, it is important that we build on the successes of the past and more importantly learn from our collective mistakes. “EXMAN now requires an executive team firmly rooted in the inauguration of its charter, but with new ideas to take the association forward, building on the past”, he said. He added that while EXMAN might not have achieved all it set out to accomplish, members are proud of the fact that the body was able to establish very important milestones that is required for the journey ahead.

“Of critical importance being the establishment of a code of industry practice, as well as the execution of the first dedicated training programme for entry to middle level staff within the experiential marketing industry. The extended debate to establish the philosophical foundation of our industry and thus articulating the required engagement with other sectoral interest groups, particularly our engagement with APCON is equally worthy of note”, Dr Olaniyan said.

On the other hand, as EXMAN gears up for the upcoming AGM, BrandiQ gathered that the Proximity Communications helmsman is being tipped by members to take over from the out-going President. It has been suggested that his wealth of experience in the marketing industry coupled with his position as the outgoing VP may possibly be a factor for his emergence as the candidate to spearhead EXMAN to the next level
